In the dungeon

Seven days down! And it’s great - such a buzz to learn every day and then tackle the challenges. 

I have a frustrating mental block with downloading datasets. From scraping, from SQLite, from anywhere - I kind of freeze and am convinced I can’t do it. Which is … unhelpful! I wrote out a lot of notes yesterday and hope that referring to them will clear up my brain. 

My classmates are great, and the buddy system works well. I really prefer face to face over remote, though. I can see me turning into one of those horrible ‘back to the office’ people. But it just works better for me. 

Oh my, and our room is horrible! There was a shortage of rooms at the coworking where Le Wagon is based, and of course we are only a small group of seven, so they gave the decent rooms to the bigger groups. Meanwhile we are at a different location, in the basement, without windows. 

The site itself - Babel rue de la République - is lovely! Airy, bright, beautiful design. And we are in a tiny, poorly lit ‘cinema room’ in the basement.  Yesterday it was freezing, too, with the air con blasting and the building management shrugging their shoulders. We now have heaters that are supposed to fight the aircon!

So - that’s not great. I mean, we’re working too hard to really notice, but it's a disappointing spot given how much everyone is paying to be here.
