You’re studying … what?

Two weeks done. And only seven to go! It’s going to pass by quickly.

So far, it’s been great. We’ve played with numpy and pandas, which I like a lot - Jupyter notebooks are really satisfying to use. And even the maths and statistics classes this week weren’t the disaster I had anticipated! Next week we go on to actually put things into practice and see what we can do with what we’ve been learning.

Honestly , one of the hardest things so far has been trying to explain to family and friends what data science even is. They just seem bewildered. If I was developing games, or apps, or … software to run a bank, even, then I think they could get it. But the idea of analysing data, making predictions, AI - I just get a bit of blank incomprehension. I’ll need to work on my ‘elevator pitch’…
