Advent of code has begun!

I completely adore Advent of Code - an annual coding challenge that runs from 1 to 24 December (funnily enough).

It’s not that I ever make it especially far - it gets harder every day. I hung on until day seven last year and that’s the best I’ve done. But for those days, it takes over my brain.

So here we are, two days in and I’m predictably obsessed. Wake at 6am  when the puzzle is released, then I’ll maybe try to sleep a bit more and let my brain work on how to tackle it .. but inevitably the call of my computer gets too much and I get up to tackle the day’s two tests.

It’s actually been a lot harder this year. The first couple of days are generally pretty easy and these really haven’t been. I’ve checked, and it’s not just me who thinks so!

Unfortunately, this year I think I might have to be sensible and stop on Monday. Going into week seven of a nine week bootcamp isn’t really the time to add on extra things to work on. And if I do read the puzzle in the morning then I won’t be able to stop myself! So: boo. I’ll come back and look at them in January, though it’s just not the same…
