And we’re off!

I’m all packed and ready to head to the UK in the morning. Two days with family, and then Cardiff for PyCon23! I’m really excited, it’ll be good to meet people, attend sessions and just experience the whole thing.

I’ve been reading about PyCon for years - in the UK, the US, in France, all over. I’d have like to go to PyCon France in Bordeaux this year, but I wasn’t free that weekend. But here I am. It feels like an important step in my career change journey, to see myself as a coder and go and meet likeminded people. It’s probably good to do it in an English-speaking country, too. I’m obviously studying data science in French and preparing to work here in France, but things are just that bit simpler in your own language!

I hope to learn a bit more about Python and how people work, and meet some new friends who are either starting out, or further along their career path. In fact, that's an interesting question: I wonder who tends to go, what the demographic is? I guess I'll find out!

Maths:

And in study news - I’ve almost finished going back over the Coursera data science maths course. It’s really good, though I do need to spend more time doing exercises and making sure I’m fully understanding all the topics.
