Om…..shanti etc

When you’re learning to code, you’re always told that you should create projects that solve issues in your own life. Well, that’s what I’ve done this afternoon! And it’s been a lovely break from maths…

I try to meditate every day. I definitely don’t manage every single day, but I feel better when I make a bit of time for it.

I’ve been using a ’self-timer’ on a meditation app and recently it stopped working. I spent a frustrating afternoon looking round other apps, which either are rubbish, or cost a zillion euros. I don’t need guided meditations, daily aphorisms and definitely not a lot of hippy-dippy woo - I just want something that can tell me when I’ve done, say, 20 minutes and ideally with some interval markers part way so that I know ‘where’ I am, time wise.

Well, make it yourself, that’s the answer! So I’ve muddled around and created this. So far I can only use it in the command line, so that’s not ideal, but I’ll try to work out a way to get it online and / or use it on my phone. If only I had some web development skills...
