Venturing into open source - and auto-translation

I’ve been reading this freecodecamp article about contributing to open source projects. I listen to podcasts about open source software, I love the concept, but I just haven’t made the jump into doing anything yet.

I really need to give it a try, but every time I open and read a project on GitHub - even the ones designed for beginners - I chicken out. It just seems so daunting! What if I look a fool? I know all this is nonsense and I need to just give it a go.

In other news, I’ve been working on tidying up this website and shifting it from a site promoting my writing to one looking at my coding journey and move towards data science. I also discovered I can set up an auto translation - Squarespace has a partnership with a company called Weglot. I do need to go in and redo the French a little, but it’s generally really good.

I’ll need to consider what to do once I hit the word count for free translation, though.

On a related note, I would love to work for a company like Weglot, combining my data science skills with language related work. Fingers crossed…
